We are now in Pangalou, Bohol. It is an island about 17 km from Cebu. This is where all the resort areas are in Visayas. Here is where they want Michael to fly and us to live. I am not going to lie it is gorgeous here and I would not mind living here at all. There is less congestion and it is more of a tropical island. We took a 1 hour and 45 min ferry to get here. Island Helicopters is going to do transfers from the airport to the island here and the resorts. So instead of the 3 hour trip we took with transfers from airport to ferry to hotel it will take 20 minutes. More time on the beach. You cannot complain about that.
We are taking a motorcycle tour of the island today to see what the island has to offer and to go to different resorts.
Tomorrow we are going back to Cebu to set up our house and to meet with Michael's partner. We might have to go to get our work visas and if that takes as long as every thing else here it will take 3 days. I saw a couple of birth clinics around our house which I am going to go see about volunteering at when we get back.

hello and mabuhay! im sure you know what that means. i am erin feldhausens friend from milwaukee. im glad and i look forward to reading your blog. i was born in the philippines and lived in cebu for a couple of years before moving to the USA...why? i wonder that all the time.
Cebu is my favorite city. The pure white sands of Hadsan Beach, the chocolate hills of Bohol, Magellans Catholic Cross and the site of his demise. He never did circumnavigate the world. Although he was credited for it, he died in Cebu, killed by the defending locals. His crew continued the voyage around the world and Ferdinand Magellan was credited for the first around the world voyage.
All the memories, even funny urban legends. Watch out! When i was there in 1985 the SM department store in Cebu was built as a feeding cage for a giant snake! It fed on people inside the fitting rooms. The snake was supposed to be so big they had to create the parking ramp helix so it can comfortably roam its body that was rumored to be 500 feet long with a 20foot diameter...the city is gullible in legend.
